Points of Contact:

Board Member

A member of the Hospitality House Board of Directors partners with the Executive Director in developing and implementing a strategic plan, attends board meetings, approves the annual budget, helps with business decisions and represents Hospitality House to stakeholders.

When? 3 hours/month, plus special projects. Board Meetings are typically on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:00pm.

Maintenance Volunteer

We are looking for 1 or 2 maintenance volunteers that can help with projects, such as mounting a shelf.

When? Flexible; 1-5 hours/month between 9-7pm based on shared availability.

Meal Program

Every night of the year, the women of Hospitality House receive a hot home-cooked meal. This is possible because hundreds of dedicated volunteers from the community share in the belief that home is more than just shelter.

We are grateful to have ten partner organizations and churches that provide 1 week of meals each quarter. We have open opportunities for a meal provider to sign up for 1 day, 1 week, or whatever cadence might work for them. Would you like to shop for, prepare and deliver an evening meal to the 9 women of Hospitality House? Not a cook or intimidated by cooking for others? Remember, the women of Hospitality House like take-out food too!

When? Tuesday – Sunday nights between 6-6:30pm for 9 clients.

Office Volunteers

To help us staff the office and keep the House open more hours each week, please consider donating a few hours of your time each month to working in the office. Volunteers make it possible for the clients to remain inside the House as they rest and work on goals by accessing resources within the House. Duties include answering the phone, pre-screening potential applicants, greeting visitors, and assisting residents.

When? Office Volunteers cover 2 to 4 hour shifts between 9am-9pm on days when staff need extra coverage.

Overnight Volunteers

On Friday and Saturday nights, the shelter is staffed by volunteers from 6pm-9am.

Our overnight volunteers respond to questions & requests from clients, lock up for bedtime, and then ‘wake up’ the shelter in the morning. We provide bedding and a place to sleep in the office, as well as extra training for overnight volunteers.

Special Events & Projects

Hospitality House utilizes volunteers for all of our events. Our annual events are the Spring Fling in March and the Walk for the Women in September.

Before, during, and after our events, we have lots of ways to help. From preparing our invitations, to running the water station, to writing thank you notes – our volunteers make our events successful!
We also have lots of ways to help with special projects, such as deep cleaning, painting, gardening, & organizing donations.

Technical Volunteer

We are looking for 1 or 2 people to help with website updates & maintaining our computers.

When? Flexible; 1-5 hours/month between 9am-7pm based on shared availability.

Workshop and Program Volunteers

Hospitality House Shelter is pleased to announce that we are now offering daytime workshop programs for our residents. A variety of outstanding guest speakers and care services providers from around the community are volunteering their time, talent and services to inform, inspire, and pamper our residents. Contact us if you have a special skill to share!
