The holiday celebrations have officially come to an end and the New Year is here with all its promise and potential. This time of year brings fun but also pause and reflection. Hospitality House observed its 15th anniversary in October and there is much for which we are grateful and there is much yet to be done.
Lake Burien Presbyterian Church, who has housed Hospitality House all these years, a heartfelt thanks to you. Hospitality House exists because of you.
We want to thank all who share ‘a piece of the pie’ with Hospitality House and the women who have graced the its doors.
Our Government partners: Burien, Tukwila, SeaTac, Des Moines, Federal Way, King County and FEMA. They provide the foundation – crust of our pie – that we build upon to meet the needs of the women each year.
Foundation and community grants, matching contributions and church gifts help fill the pie so we are able to have a great staff, offer case management and to keep the House operating efficiently. Our continued support from our member organizations and churches: Des Moines United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles 3523, John Knox Presbyterian Church, Normandy Park Church of Latter Day Saints, Normandy Park Congregational UCC, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Saltwater Unitarian Church, St. Bernadette Catholic, St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic, St. Vincent dePaul, Soroptimists, and Southminster Presbyterian Church.
Our Spring Fling and Walk for the Women accounted for funding 30% of the 2015 budget. Many thanks to those who sponsor, donate items, and participate in the fundraisers – the pie is sweetened with your generosity.
And, finally, the topping! We are so grateful for new and renewed partnerships with others in the community this year: Three Tree Yacht Club, El Dorado West Retirement Center, Normandy Park Senior Living, New Life Church,30/10 Weight Loss for Life, and Discover Burien.
Whether you are a new friend or long-time supporter, we thank you for your service, your donations, your sponsorships and for sharing your passion and expertise with the ladies in 2015.
We look forward to working with you in 2016 to help women find life solutions and homes. Happy New Year!
