New Life Church, with satellites in Renton, Maple Valley and Burien, hosted a luncheon on August 13th to meet with and thank organizations that serve those in need in these communities. Our Hospitality House Program Manager, Sheenah Randolph, and two Board Members, Peggy Meyer and Barbara Campbell, attended this luncheon to thank New Life Church
for a generous donation they recently made to Hospitality House. Not only was the lunch delicious, there was an opportunity to meet local representatives from World Relief, World Vision, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Northwest Harvest, Birthday Dreams, Hazel Valley Elementary and other service organizations. Vinnie Ramos, New Life Church Burien Pastor, personally thanked and presented each organization in attendance with a cash gift.
New Life Church encourages their small church groups to volunteer at community organizations. Just before Christmas last year, 20 volunteers from New Life Church did a variety of tasks at Hospitality House; gift wrapping, deep cleaning, and professional window washing and the major undertaking was giving the ladies’ bathroom a fresh coat of paint!
We are so excited to continue our partnership with the Burien New Life Church. Hospitality House has been invited to attend New Life Church community services day in Burien on November 8, 2015 to connect with their larger church body. This is an opportunity to meet church members and provide information about the areas in which Hospitality House could most use volunteers in the future.
