August is rolling full steam ahead, and we have a new Donations Needed List that we would love and need your help fulfilling.
You will notice that our Donations Needs List has a new format, so we hope it is easier on your eyes.
Please remember that you are absolutely welcome to drop donations off to Hospitality House. However if it is easier – you can use our Amazon link below which provides a list of the things we need at the shelter, but and you can help shop for us from the comfort of your home!
Thank you for always supporting us and covering the Residents of Hospitality House with your donations. We couldn’t do this work without you!
Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you have all been staying cool in this crazy heat wave. Our women have been hunkering down in the shelter with the lights off, multiple fans going in every room and two ACs running. It’s been hot but, we have been managing! And, of course, all of us are so excited to see Washington State opening back up again at the tail end of this pandemic! We have deeply appreciated the support all of you have provided during the pandemic, especially those who have stepped up to fill the gaps that opened as a result. With things beginning to return to normal, we continue to ask for your help in supporting our women. Below is our July Donations Needed List. Take a look!
Welcome to Summer! Who would have thought that summer would come so fast like this. The women of Hospitality House are enjoying warm summer nights sitting in the courtyard and are taking full advantage of the sunshine. Each season brings its own challenges and different needs tend to arise depending on the weather. If you are interesting in supporting our clients, check out our Donations Needed List below:
With May comes Mother’s Day, which can sometimes be a challenging time for our women who are away from their children. For many mothers at Hospitality House, their children are a motivator for improvement and hard work. Regaining custody and building trust can be a long and challenging journey, requiring patience and perseverance. Our mothers, and our women work hard to improve their situations, but they cannot get to where they desire without your help and support. It is you who helps the mother get a bus pass to see her daughter for their visit. And it is you who provides toiletries to the women without a penny to her name who spent two-weeks on the streets without a place to lay her head. Your support and your donations are invaluable. Happy Easter! April showers are upon us, but that means that summer is right around the corner! This past year has been a whirlwind of unpredictable obstacles, but we are finally reaching the other side of the pandemic. Our staff and clients are starting to get their vaccinations and the state has finally moved into Phase 3! Our women are working hard to find employment and housing by working with their Case Mangers on a weekly basis. We are so grateful to all of you who continue to support our homeless women during their time at Hospitality House. Home is what we want our shelter to feel like to the women that live here, and that is something that you can help with! Basic items like toothpaste, toilet paper, shower shoes (flip flops), and folders are all things that help our women feel at home. With their basic needs met, our women can focus on future stability instead of living in survival mode.
If you are interested in helping our women meet their basic needs, check out our April Donations Needed List!

Welcome to February! We are now well into the new year and our women have been working hard on their housing goals. We currently have a great group of women who all care for each other and anticipate each other’s needs. Our women are great at supporting one another with the little resources they have and could benefit from some extra assistance along the way. If you are interested in helping our women, our Donations Needed List is a great way to start. Our Donations Needed List details all the items we need at this time to help successfully run our program and support the needs of our women.

Happy New Year! We have finally made it out of 2020 and are entering a fresh year. New Years is a time to set goals going forward into the new year, to reflect on the past and move forward. Our clients are working towards goals like stable housing, employment, and proper mental health support. Meeting with their Case Managers helps our women move forward with their lives and achieve their goals. If you would like to help with this process, please consider Donating to Hospitality House from our Donation Needed List!
Happy Holidays! Christmas is a time for family, loved ones, and gift giving. Hospitality House is getting in the Christmas spirit as well! December 1st is when we hold our annual Christmas decorating party and spruce up the shelter with festive ornaments for Christmas. Christmas time is typically when we receive the bulk of our donations that we use for the remainder of the year. Check out our December Donations Needed List below for some ideas about what to donate:
This month leading up to Thanksgiving Hospitality House is practicing gratitude. We are grateful for all the people who help us operate effectively, for our Volunteers and to our Donors. Our women frequently comment on the variety of donations we receive and express that their needs are properly met while living here. We put out monthly Donations Needed Lists to help ensure that our women continue to receive the items they need to feel at home while they work to find housing and future stability. Below is the Donations Needed List for November, please consider donating an item from this list to Hospitality House.
