2015 Spring Fling a Success

Silent Auction Fling Table Boats for Beds Auction

The 2015 Spring Fling was held in a new location and catered by a new partner.  On Saturday, March 7, 160 people gathered at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Burien and enjoyed a culinary delight prepared and served by the students from the Puget Sound Skills Center, led by Chef Kevin Blalock and Tony Poplin, Instructor.  Attendees enjoyed the new venue and LOVED the food.

The Three Tree Point Yacht Club generously donated several boats for a moonlight cruise and dessert reception.  The lucky bidders will enjoy the evening sailing on June 19, 2015.  In addition to the “Boats for Beds” the silent auction featured handmade quilts, restaurant and hotel certificates and themed baskets from wine to Seahawks gear.

We were surprised and entertained by the Mt. Rainier High School Band.  Band leader, Jordan Beckman and members of the band made an appearance during the silent auction and played a few tunes.    Pastor Patrinell Wright and the Total Experience Gospel Choir entertained during dinner.  The dessert dash is always fun and was entirely successful.

The highlight of the evening was the heartfelt address given by Christine, a former.  As she shared her life challenges that led her to Hospitality House, you could have heard a pin drop.  Hearing Christine speak makes all of us realize why we give our time and our love to such a worthwhile cause.

Thank you to the meal coordinators, the board of directors, staff and volunteers who made the event possible.

The date and location for the 2016 Spring Fling will be available soon.
